Two routes to get Glass near the train
Glass appears as small floating balls in Outskirts wreckage. Pick it up by hand. Start inside the broken cylindrical corridor with windows slightly north of the train, where 4 to 5 Glass balls float alongside Metal and Plastic.
For more Glass, search north-west of the train around a wagon torn in half. A floating astronaut corpse marks the wreck beside a large tube entrance.
Northern train route: the windowed corridor
- Leave the starting train through its exit into the Outskirts debris field.
- Turn north and identify the broken cylindrical corridor with windows. Hold Alt to steady yourself in open space.
- Fly inside the corridor. The resources are inside the structure, not on its outer hull.
- Collect each floating Glass ball by hand and sweep the same interior for Metal and Plastic before returning.
North-west train route: the split wagon
- Travel north-west from the train toward the large tube entrance, but stay outside it: the Glass is not inside that tube.
- Look around the entrance for a wagon torn in half and the dead astronaut floating beside it.
- Collect the extra Glass balls drifting around the split wagon wreck.
Glass pickup and early uses

- Pick the small floating Glass balls up by hand. This early material is collected from wreckage rather than produced with a tool.

- Save Glass for replacing the lamp inside your train carriage. It also goes into the Flashlight later, once you have found that recipe.
