Aluminum comes from drillable deposits
Find Aluminum deposits on asteroids and use the Thumper to harvest them. Aluminum comes from a drillable node rather than the ordinary Metal scrap floating through the wreckage.
Make the Thumper and collect Aluminum
- Craft the starter Thumper with 4 Metal and 2 Plastic.
- Inspect the asteroids for a node labeled Aluminum deposit. Its interaction requires the Thumper.
- Use the Thumper on the deposit. Pick up Aluminum when your route passes a suitable node so the next tool craft has a reserve ready.

- Is floating Metal the same pickup as Aluminum?
