Small Engine research leads to the Booster
Small Engines appear during Depot progression and can be studied for later movement technology. Completing the research unlocks the Booster, but you can finish the Depot before waiting for that movement upgrade.
Choose when to study each Small Engine
- Examine a Small Engine when the required parts are already in your inventory.
- If an engine wants a component you just exhausted on Service Warmers, leave the research for another pass and continue the heating chain.
- Budget for the next warmer before optional research. A Service Warmer repair uses 4 Metal, 1 Light Bulb, 4 Wires and 2 Electronics.
Research priority while restoring the Depot
- Must I unlock the Booster before finishing the Depot?
- You can finish the Depot without waiting for the Booster. Keep the heating route moving if optional engine research would consume the parts it needs.
- What is the reward for completing Small Engine research?
- Completing the research makes the Booster available. Research unlocks the blueprint; building a functioning movement setup is the next step.
